Inviting a New Patient (Resident) and the Primary Contact

Invite a new patient (resident) and the primary contact to receive updates on the facility, resident's care and clinical summary.


Once a new patient(resident) has been added to PointClickCare and their contact list completed, the patient and their primary contact can be invited to the CareLoop platform. Please note: The primary contact in a patient's(resident's) contact list must include the appropriate designation (Ex. 'Emergency Contact #1'). This designation will be determined when your organization is set up.

To invite the patient to CareLoop, find the patient in the 'Add Patient' list found under 'My Patients'. Select the patient from the list or search using the search bar in the upper right hand corner.

Once on the patient's(resident's) feed, click 'Invite Patient' found within the top banner. This can also be found under 'Patient Info'.

Invite the patient(resident) via text, email, or have them download the CareLoop application and select 'Login with QR' found under 'Login' on the CareLoop home screen.

The Primary contact listed within PointClickCare's EHR auto-populates within CareLoops 'FAMILY & CAREGIVERS' section.  

Click on the 'invite contact' icon to the right of the Guarantor.

Invite the patient(resident) via text, email, or have them download the CareLoop application and select 'Login with QR' found under 'Login' on the CareLoop home screen. After scanning the QR, the guarantor will complete their account which is automatically connected to the resident's.

The primary contact will use the unique link sent via text or email or QR code to complete the CareLoop enrollment process and have access to the resident's feed. 

Once logged in, the primary contact can invite family and loved ones listed in the EHR to the resident's feed.  Please see the article on how to add family and loved ones.
